Last Friday KES caught up with singer Yusif Osao Kamara aka YOK-7 at his Race Course Road residence and he finally explained his own side of the coin over the beef he had with the self-proclaimed king of hip-hop Kao Denero and Black Leo in general.

YOK 7 said he had vowed not to grant any interview to the media but since there were wild rumours going around that he saw Kao with a pistol he would now set the records straight.

YOK, who’s now referred to as the Don, said he did not actually see Kao with a pistol but said reports reached him that Kao went to his house and threatened to kill him while he was not around.

He said this was the reason why he made a report against Kao at the police station.

YOK-7 and Kao Denero were closed friends before the latter released his ‘New Beginning’ album. So what caused the estrangement between them?

YOK said he has nothing against Kao Denero.

“It is just that the single I did with Noble Squad was misinterpreted as an indirect attack on Kao Denero and his unit Black Leo,” said YOK.

However, YOK said he did not consider the song that way.

“It is a revolutionary song, intending to right societal wrongs,” he said.
