Eagle Eyes Jimmy B stars in his first action thriller! By Ahmed Sahid Nasralla (De Monk)
Jimmy B, Chika and Celia A powerful drug lord gives in to his desire to sleep with his beautiful but married secretary. However, he did not bargain for the kind of husband who comes looking for the killer of his murdered wife. Run, run, run for your life, for here comes the assassin Jimmy Bangura (aka Jimmy B). But run only if you’re guilty. Acclaimed singer cum actor Jimmy B stars in his first superbly woven action thriller EAGLE EYES. Filmed on location in Sierra Leone, actually Western urban, the film features 95% Sierra Leonean cast. Assistant Inspector General David Sesay, former Director of Prisons F.S. Conteh and JT Roy Macauley- stage actor way back in the days- all feature as guest appearance. Included in the main cast are Desmond Finney of Premier Media Consultancy Ltd., Sarah King, and Salami Carew. The lead characters include Michael Ozureonye (as the leading antagonist who plays the role of drug lord); Chika Ike (Paradise and Bless The Child) who plays fiancé of Jimmy B; Steph Nora as Jimmy’s wife; Tchidi Chikere (producer of Blood Sisters and Walls Apart), and of course Jimmy B (Live & let Live and Only for Love) as the main protagonist. The film also features former SRSG to Sierra Leone and head of UNAMSIL Ambassador Daudi Mwakawago, and young musician Wahid (‘Tin dem’) as a street drug peddler who gets killed by Jimmy B. But the most revealing character is 12 year-old debutant Celia Greenwood. The JSSIII International School pupil plays the role of Jimmy B’s daughter who becomes an eye witness to the big murder. While Jimmy B’s first two films are subject driven (Live & Let Live is about HIV/AIDS and Only for Love is about land grabbing in Africa), Eagle Eyes is purely an entertaining movie, most preferably an action thriller. “The film is full of action, far from the regular Nigerian films” Jimmy tells KES. In search of his wife’s murderer, Jimmy B-working for the law enforcement agency- finds himself, after some twists in the tail, working for the drug lord in order to get closer to the wife murder. Eagle Eyes was launched in Maryland, USA, October 2007. However, Jimmy B has already sold distribution rights in Nigeria (to OJ Production) in the UK and America. Jimmy says sale of the distribution rights have helped him recover much of the US$43,000 budget of the film. The film is directed by Tchidi Chikere (Blood Sisters, Walls Apart) and produced by Jimmy B. Eagle Eyes is available Part 1 & 2 in separate discs with a running time of approximately one hour each. |
