Basket Mot undergoes mouth surgery!

Hello Reader, I understand, in fact overstand, from Monk say you vex because you nor hear from me last week.

Yes na true say you nor hear from me but reader you suppose to know say goat de sweat but na hair cover am. Anyway I am very, very, very sorry oh; and I promise say it won’t happen again. The truth is I was busy undergoing some training with the BBC World Trust on Radio Journalism & Programs production.

Reader, you nor glady for me? Now I am back and ready. In fact you don’t even know how I miss you. I really don’t know how to make up for the lost time. Ah! That’s reminds me. I also did plastic surgery on my mouth oh reader! I have to extend it and even widen the holes in the basket so as to enable it leak well. BBC said for one to be a successful journalist you must have an acute running mouth. As a result of that I have to do an extension of my mouth. But reader, na bad ar do? That’s why I like you; you always bato me.

 LEX BUBBLES to quit music!?

Reader, you know him eh? Yes, that’s him. The whistle man. The short and talented rapper turned banker.

Lex Bubbles will be launching his debut but last album ‘Code of Da Street’ on the 4th April, 2008 at the YSC. The Hip Hop world & the Sierra Leone music industry will surely miss him. Bubbles is a talent in the rap game but believes he has more prospect in Banking rather than music. The guy is a graduate from FBC and believes he has nothing to lose dropping the rap game.

Well, reader how you a see am? E nor play? But wait oh; what if Bubbles decides to come out of retirement, will he be welcome into the rap game again? Reader, the answer is yessssssss.

Reader, na Zua Zee and Za. Al tin correct. He is highly welcome. The man has a permanent place in the rap game and in the Bank. In short, the man is a rapping Banker. He will now rap while he discharges his duty in the bank. He needs to rap to encourage customers, he needs to rap while he signs cheques and perform other important functions at the bank. Reader, don’t make any mistake Bubbles is not gone. He will still be there not as a rapper may be, but as a song writer and mentor to upcoming rappers.

Viva Paradise Records, Viva Jimmy B, Viva Lex Bubbles. Go into the world of Banking and prove your mettle. Reader, hope to see you at YSC on the 4th of April for the “CODE OF DA STREET” album launch.

 TRYE STEVENS to wed!

Reader you don yerry wetin ar yerry? Trye Stevens, another guru based in UK, will be coming to town in April. Guess what? Di borbor (sorry de man) de kam marrade.

You see reader? The rappers are desperate oh. Bubbles joins the bank while Trye joins the union of married men. We (me & you) wish Trye Stevens and his wife-to-be all the best they wish for themselves.

Trye Stevens runs Two Minds records but my advice to him is that in marriage there is nothing like two minds. He may have to drop the two minds thing and focus on the one mind thing because the two when joined together will become one. Congratulations in advance Trye and Zain, your wife-to-be. Stay focus and keep it strong. We love you and we will always do. How many more rappers will quit the bachelors club?

STOP PIRACY NOW!!!!

Reader, I have been telling you and am telling you not to participate in the act of piracy; whether by buying or selling pirated CDs and cassettes.

If you do you are destroying the future of our producers, managers, musicians and artists. Be very vigilant and help in the fight against piracy. Save the music industry and build a better Sierra Leone. It is for our own good.

If dem kech you, e go mona you oh! Lonta!

BASE hits JACKPOT as LULU breaks the spell

Reader, you see me dae? I saw you! Na we all go. But I want to first of all thank you for supporting Salone music by supporting DJ Lulu.

They say “if you see someone on the rise, help that person rise, because when he/she rises, we rise too”. Reader, you wan see crowd! Wetin na line! Attouga stadium was jam packed on Valentine’s Day and the show was good.

But reader let us look at what was responsible for the success: T.A.T of course. TAT is Talent, Affiliation and Team work. Lulu has talent, she affiliates well and has a team led by Base Aphonix who ensured that everything was in place and on time.

No artist will ever be successful without TAT. Base Aphonix is a very good mixer and can affiliate well. He knows what he wants, how to get to it, when to get it and how to use it. Now he is busy organising shows in the provinces, while planning foreign shows. Reader Lulu has broken the spell that holds you from going to shows. So henceforth you can go to shows and support our artists. The breeze is now blowing on the east since “WATCH NO FACE” debul now empties all shows at the National Stadium main bowl. That’s reminds me reader, please don’t  forget to support the union of female artists at the National Stadium main bowl on International Women’s Day (March 8). Finally, reader I want you to make a pledge today. Pledge not to pirate, sell or buy pirated cassettes or cds. Go out there and buy the original cds and cassettes. Let us all in our own little ways help build the Salone music industry. But reader have you seen Lulu or Base lately? Usai now, the man is very hard to come by. Please reader if you see him or her tell them Sultan says the bible says “when thou has converted strengthen thy brethren”. Reader e lie? Usai. I support him, Principal, Tamba B, Lizy Rai, Daphie F, Master P, Buju (Sky & Radio K), even Foxy Grand Papa supports Sultan. Sultan is a man of God and cannot lie. Please do as the man of God says. Lonta!

Amit Passes Clinic Test

Reader, I guess you know about “MANAGE DE DAMAGE”? But in case you don’t know, “manage de damage” is a Kalleone Radio program that deals with issues bothering the Sierra Leone music industry and it’s presented by Izzi-I. There is the “music clinic” within MANAGE DE DAMAGE that tends to ensure that promotional Sierra Leone songs go through clinical test. We play your promotional song and all the public to examine the lyrical and instrumental contents and then call to say their view. Amit of Linx was the first artist to go through successfully with two songs ‘BAD PADDY’ and ‘Fire go burn u’. Comments from the public were good. I want to encourage other artists to do the same. If your songs are good enough face the public with them. Let’s build Sierra Leone music together.
