SQB Dem Bow to Akon
YOK breaks
silence
SQB
Popular Sierra Leonean hip-hop group SQB are set to dish out a
brand new album titeld ‘DEM BOW’. The ‘Mo fire’ stars revealed to KES that the album
comprises of 16 tracks and well packaged by Stress Inc. with
songs like ‘Who believe in bone?’ and more.
‘Dem Bow’
is expected to be released to the public by next week but no
date is yet set for launching.
The SQB left Sierra Leone for Guinea on an invitation from a mobile
company called Cellcom based in that country. Cellcom had a show with
popular US based Senegalese singer Akon and SQB were to perform along
side him.

GSM Operators form Association
The
four operating mobile companies in Sierra Leone, Celtel, Tigo,
Comium and Africell on Wednesday night officially launched the
Sierra Leone GSM Operators Association. Chairman of the occasion,
Africell MD, Robert Khoury, said it was a great day for mobile
operators in the country as they have new decided to coordinate
under one umbrella. He said the association, which has received the
blessings of GSM Africa Association, will cultivate and maintain
strong link with the African body.

help UNICEF fight HIV/AIDS in Sierra Leone
UNICEF has unveiled the Manchester United FC Supported HIV/AIDS
Awareness Campaign in Sierra Leone at a press briefing held at the
national football academy, Kingtom. The campaign, which seeks to
disseminate HIV/AIDS prevention messages to young people in Sierra
Leone, is fully centered on football and sports and will be backed
by radio jingles and television spots recorded in England by famous
Manchester United stars Ferdinand, Evra and Giggs.

Kamara aka YOK-7 at his Race Course Road residence and he
finally explained his own side of the coin over the beef he had
with the self-proclaimed king of hip-hop Kao Denero and Black

YOK 7 said he had vowed not to grant any interview to the media
but since there were wild rumours going around that he saw Kao

NOC names
16-man dele for Olympic Games
According to reports reaching KES, the National
Olympic Committee (NOC) has sent a 16-man delegation list to the
International Olympic Committee ahead of the Olympic Games in
Beijing, China in August.
The
delegation will leave Freetown early next month with the Minister of
Education, Youths and Sports, Dr Mainkailu Bah expected to lead the
delegation, followed by the NOC president and secretary general, Mr
Henry Moore and David S. Woobay, respectively.

The
much anticipated Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective
congress originally slated for June 28 has been officially defered
to Friday 18th and Saturday 19th July 2008.
This was disclosed by the Western Area Football Assocation (WAFA)
Chairman, Alhaji Unisa Alim ‘Awoko’ Sesay in a press conference at
the SLFA Secretariat, Battery Street, Kingtom, Freetown.

GOAL was ratified in 1999 in Los Angeles at FIFA’s
Extraordinary Congress and is today a key improvement programme of
FIFA. It places administrative, technical, and importantly financial
resources, at the disposal of FIFA’s 204 members for their use in
development projects. It was discovered that the majority of
development countries, especially in Africa, lacked the
infrastructure and technical abilities to effectively enhance the
status of the cherished game of football.
